FERS Pension Calculator
Estimate your FERS basic annuity, the FERS supplement and TSP income at the age you plan to retire. See which retirement rule applies to you, what a survivor benefit costs, and how much one more year of service adds.
Your retirement date, survivor election, FEHB, TSP withdrawals and Social Security claiming age interact with each other and with taxes, and several of these decisions can't be undone. That is a conversation, not a calculator — and Gary Korolev, CFA, will have it with you personally.
How this estimate works: the FERS basic annuity is your High-3 average salary × years of service × 1% (1.1% if you retire at 62 or older with at least 20 years). Eligibility follows OPM's rules for immediate retirement (62 with 5 years, 60 with 20, your Minimum Retirement Age with 30, or your MRA with 10, reduced by 5% for each year under 62 unless you have 20 years and are 60 or older) and deferred retirement if you leave earlier. Unused sick leave is added to service for immediate retirements only. A survivor benefit reduces your annuity by 10% (full) or 5% (partial). The FERS supplement is estimated as your Social Security benefit at 62 × whole years of FERS civilian service ÷ 40, and is paid only on an immediate, unreduced retirement before 62; it is subject to an earnings test and is not paid on MRA+10 retirements. The TSP projection assumes your salary stays at the High-3 amount, your chosen contribution rate (capped at the 2026 IRS elective deferral limit of $24,500, plus catch-up contributions from age 50), agency contributions of 1% plus matching up to 4%, the annual return after inflation you select, compounded yearly, and level withdrawals at the rate you select. All amounts are in today's dollars, before taxes, FEHB and other premiums, and ignore cost-of-living adjustments (for regular FERS retirees these generally start at 62) and future pay raises. The calculator does not model special provisions (law enforcement officers, firefighters, air traffic controllers), CSRS or CSRS Offset service, part-time service, disability retirement, early-out offers or deposit and redeposit rules. Investment returns are hypothetical assumptions, not projections of any investment's performance, and actual results will vary, possibly significantly. Disclaimer & Business Continuity Plan
Sovereign Wealth Management, LLC ("Adviser") has adopted a Business Continuity Plan ("BCP") pursuant to the Investment Advisers Act and the rules and guidance of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") and/or the laws of Virginia where the Adviser is registered. The purpose of the BCP is to define the strategies and plans that will be used by Adviser during a significant business disruption ("SBD"). The BCP is prepared to address both internal SBDs, such as a fire in Adviser's building, and external SBDs, such as a natural disaster, terrorist attack, or citywide power disruption.
Our Business Continuity PlanIn the event of an SBD, Adviser will safeguard employee lives and firm property. Adviser will work to re-establish the systems necessary to quickly recover and resume operations, protect Adviser's books and records and allow Adviser's customers to transact business to the extent reasonable and practical under the circumstances. Adviser's BCP addresses: alternate office locations, customer access to funds and securities, financial and operational assessments, data backup and recovery, critical systems, alternative communications with customers, employees, and regulators, and critical business constituents.
Contacting Adviser and Accessing Funds and SecuritiesIf you are not able to contact Adviser through our regular telephone number, please contact us by email at info@sovereign.global. For questions relating directly to accessing your funds and securities, please contact your custodian, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab or BitGo.
Varying DisruptionsSBDs can vary in their scope, from only our firm's office, the business district where our firm is located, the city where we are located, or the whole region. Within each of these areas, the severity of the disruption can also vary from minimal to severe. During a SBD, the Adviser will continue to do business but the ability of Adviser to fully function will be dependent on outside sources outside of its control, including the availability of electricity, telephones, Internet, transportation, and the functioning of institutions and markets worldwide. Nothing in Adviser's BCP or this disclosure statement is intended to provide a guarantee or warranty regarding the actions or performance of Adviser.
